The other night, I was attending a fund-raiser for Water Charities in Denver.  I heard about it through a series of connections and was looking forward to meeting some like-hearted people.

Before I began circulating, I set an intention that I would meet the people I most needed to connect with that night.

Shortly after arriving, I met a woman who was involved with Sister Cities, something I know very little about. After sharing with her about our project in Chennai, she looked at me and grinned.

"Did you know Chennai is one of Denver's Sister Cities?" she asked.

I hadn't know that.  She then pointed me to a woman across the room who had participated  in Sister City Exchange programs in Chennai. Within minutes of chatting with this woman, I discovered she and others had been instrumental in getting funding and supplies to Chennai after the tsunami.  She had worked with a group of East Indian individuals living in Denver called Helping Hands that facilitated their support.

Now I grinned.  Helping Hands is the e-mail address we use here at New Dream Foundation to let everyone know we are here to be of service.

I have learned not to make assumptions about what these kind of synchronicities may or may not ultimately mean in terms of results. Yet, I have discovered that for me they affirm the direction I am going.
